Visiting Lecturer: Dave Bishop – Astronomy Annual Update 2017

Friday, Oct 20th at 7 PM Dave Bishop will give his ever-popular “Astronomy Annual Update for 2017” at OCC’s Ferrante Hall, Room 343.

Dave is the vice president at the Rochester astronomy club, ASRAS and has lectured several times before to SAS, most recently at our last summer seminar a few years ago.

The talk promises to be informative and engaging. Please plan to attend.

Smash Hit Observing Session at DHO Last Night

About 8 scopes and 20 or so members/public viewed the heavens last night at DHO.

The soon to be repaired (still about $500 short) chart room was toured. Hoping that we’ll have use of the big scope back by the October 21st observing session.

SEPTEMBER MEETING: The Society’s next monthly meeting and public presentation, “How Telescopes Changed Our Understanding of the Universe” ¬†will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 in Room 343 Ferrante Hall, Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York.
