We’ve had some good viewing and some outstanding events this summer. Unfortunately, we remain limited to member-only events as we are not yet able to invite the public to Darling Hill Observatory. Friday 9/11 at 7:00 PM is our member meeting. We will have a short lecture by Dave Wormuth and some time for open-floor discussion of all the great observing and photography that has been going on. August Update

Hello to all SAS members & followers! I know this has been a tough year for social activities, and I’m sorry to have to say again that we are not able to host public star parties at the Darling Hill Observatory in Tully, NY at this time. Thanks for your patience. We’ll be back in time. As local CNY astronomers know, we have been very fortunate to have comfortable nighttime weather, clear skies, and lots of open space in Central New York for a while now and I know many of us have been enjoying the Perseids as well. April Public Star Party Cancelled

Unfortunately, we have to cancel the public star party for April 24th. While I’m sure everyone is ready to get outside after winter, we’re going to have to wait a bit longer before we have public parties. Going forward we will make decisions on the next public event as it approaches. On the upside, we had an outstanding April member meeting online.
