We had a very productive Board Meeting last night and an excellent clear night for public observing. Thank you to all of the guests who came out to Darling Hill Observatory last night! All members and future members, The rain will end by noon, the cold front will pass. It will be cold and a little windy, but you will probably see the half-moon as you’ve never seen it before…during the day and at night. We are GO for Public Observing tomorrow night, Friday, May 31st starting at 9:00 PM and going to 11:45! According to my three favorite sky cover predictors (www.wunderground.com, forecast.weather.gov, and www.cleardarksky.com), there is a good chance there will be a big hole in the gray blanket that protects CNY most nights. I plan to arrive around 7:00 PM to finish cleaning up and unboxing the books in the observatory. Members are welcome to stop by any time of course. Non-members may show up starting at 9:00 PM.
