Syracuse Astronomical Society Website Migrates To WordPress, Adds Twitter And RSS Feed

Greetings fellow astrophiles!

With the opening of the 2011 Public Viewing Session comes a move to a new website platform to make more accessible the announcements of SAS news and events. Additional updates will be soon to follow, but consider subscribing to our RSS feed, joining our facebook group, subscribing to our new twitter feed, or requesting addition to our newsletter, the Astronomical Chronicle.

As with the previous version of the website, all of the important information is located on the right-hand side, including links to forecasts and free sky charts, our member organizations and media outlets, Clear Sky Clock updates, and a host of sites and local pages. New to the site is the email subscription and feedback section that serves to replace some of the functionality of the phpBB we had previously used for announcements (but that has been retired due to security and spam issues).

Also, consider making 2011 the year you join the SAS! We’ve several activities, lectures, and viewing sessions in the works for this year that are all made better by your presence and support.
