Syracuse Astronomical Society Donation Match Fundraiser

SAS Members,   Our group has been informed of a proposal, currently before the town of Homer, to build several LED billboards along I-81, not far from Darling Hill Observatory. 8/11 Public Session is ON!

*** SAS Members *** Come and join us at Darling Hill Observatory in Tully for our public session tonight, 8/11! We’ll have clear, moonless skies and pleasant temperatures tonight. We’ll have plenty of telescopes on the field for you to look through or bring your own. Bring a comfortable lawn chair and a light jacket and maybe a pair of binoculars and watch some of the Perseid meteor shower. See you on the Hill! Anthony Krishock President, SAS

7/14 Public session is cancelled

SAS Members, Due to some recent construction on site at Darling Hill, we will have to cancel our public session scheduled for Friday, 7/14. We recently took down our deck that was around our main building and there is still quite a bit of construction debris as well as some holes in the ground that we’re digging for new posts. It’s difficult enough to move around in the daytime and worse at night. We should be ready to go for our member session the following Friday, 7/21, weather permitting.
